Travel Lessons
I've seen many things that brought tears to my eyes on this trip.
Mountains and valleys and stars and moons and forests and jungles. I've felt so
many warm handshakes; had so many hearty laughs; and seen the faces of so many
children whose smiles were so big that they threatened to engulf me. It is
indeed a beautiful world. But I've seen other things too, scenes of paramount
ugliness: a sea of pagan idolatry, teenage prostitution, government
corruption, torture of the innocent, genocide, men worshipping evil
spirits, self mutilation, instutionalised atheism, pluralistic relativism and
pleasure seeking pantheism. What a crazy world it has become. This trip has
certainly confirmed for me the Bible's teaching on man - that he is both the
glory of God's creation and its biggest shame. God made us wonderful but sin has
made us capable of infinite evil. Yes it's true: we are sinners - you and me,
and we need the forgiveness of God. That's why Jesus came into this wonderful
but broken world. If you are living a Godless life, there's no need to go on
like that. Turn away from sin; put your faith in Jesus Christ and He will
forgive you. Do it today, while the Lord may be found.
